Nope, but you can place it in your house to take off from there. You can also place as city deco (so I read somewhere anyway). I have a bazaar terminal and starship terminal in my traders store as a convenience to the shopper.

If you have the one vet reward Homing Beacon, you can land and take off from your house.

From what I can see there is no way to launch from the terminal, only the option to mannage your ships parts.

I got one of those Homing Beacon but its a pain to use have to go to the station to use it lol then I can only use it on that one toon

Anyone know what happens when you Home Port when launching from one of these things? I know what I'd hope would happen - which probably means it doesn't work that way! SOE!

The portable starship terminal is a joke, you can't launch or homeport with it. All it does is allow you to change your ship parts. The beacon Sythy is talking about is at least nice because you can take off and land from your house. But it does make you go to a space station to land in your home. That is from your character/account being on for so long.
